Overivew

The following is the installation guide for the Cidron Combi reader for both slim and standard models.

Mounting

Idea
Give yourself about 12" of extra cable to work with at the mounting location.
Alert
Use AWG 22 or 18 shielded 4-conductor wire for the best results.

Step 1 - Mount the QR Module
  1. Pull the reader cable AND the QR module cable from back to front through the QR code module, and hold the module against the wall or door frame where you will mount the reader. 
  2. Mark 3 holes where the screws will go with a punch or awl, using the diagram below.
  3. Drill pilot holes for the screws. If screwing into metal.  If screwing into drywall or concrete, use the supplied anchors.
  4. Fasten the QR code module.

Step 2 - Mount the Installation Plate
  1. Pull the reader cable AND the QR module cable through the rubber installation plate using the hole shown in the diagram above.
  2. Use the small mounting screws provided to fasten the plate to the QR module

Wiring

Two cables should come through the mounting plate: a thin black pigtail from the QR module with 4 conductors (red, black, green, and white).  A larger cable, the reader home run, needs only 4 conductors: 12VDC, Ground, RS 485+, and RS 485-.

  3. GREEN = D+/RX
  4. WHITE= D-/TX

  1. RED = DC+
  2. BLACK = GND
  3. GREEN = A/TX (RS485 +)
  4. WHITE = B/RX (RS485 -)

Warning
Do not leave extra cable inside the reader


Final Mounting

  1. Align the pins with the terminals and gently press the main reader module onto the mounting plate.
Press on the reader module
  1. Fasten the front cover
  2. Fasten the tamper screw

Cover Plate Removal


If you need to remove the cover plate, remove the tamper screw and use the provide tool to gently pry the cover plate off the mount from the bottom.
