How to Set Up a 2-Hour Open Play Product
If you have a smaller facility and want to manage occupancy more closely, you may want to offer a 2-hour Open Play product instead of an all-day Day Pass. This helps you track how many children are playing in your facility throughout the day.
Note: While this setup gives you better insight into facility traffic throughout a day, it cannot enforce a maximum occupancy. It limits when customers can arrive but it cannot control when they choose to leave.
Scenario
You want to sell a 2-hour open play pass, not an all-day pass.
Customers should be able to choose both the date and time they plan to visit your facility (their preferred 2-hour booking window).
After checkout, customers will receive an access code that gives them access to your facility only during the specific 2-hour window they selected.
Quick Summary
Create a 2-Hour Open Play product, where customers select both the date and time they plan to visit your facility.
Step-by-Step Setup
1. Create a new product
- Product type: Event
2. Set the Unit of Measure to child
3. Set the total number of children allowed per timeslot
How this works:
Let’s say you set the Total Spots Available to 20.
A parent wants to bring their three children from 11 AM–1 PM on 10/15.
They go to your Rhōmb site, select this product, choose a quantity of 3 children, and complete their purchase.
Once they check out, there are 17 spots remaining for the 11 AM–1 PM timeslot on 10/15.
Note: It’s best to set the total spots slightly lower than your actual maximum capacity. This gives you a buffer for children who may stay past their 2-hour play window.
4. Add the timeslots you'd like this product to be available.
5. Configure the remaining settings how you prefer.
