Reboot Brivo OnAir LifeSafety Control Panel

Reboot Brivo OnAir LifeSafety Control Panel

Overview

The following are instructions for rebooting the Brivo OnAir ACS6000/LifeSafety integrated door controller.

Locate the Control Panel

The control panel is typically mounted in an IT or utility closet near the Internet source.  You are looking for a black enclosure that looks similar to this:

You may need a key to unlock the enclosure.  Unless the key was stored by the facility owner, it may be found on top of the unit.  This is where a technician may leave the key, if it isn't already in the lock.

Disable the Battery Backup

  1. Open the enclosure and locate the batteries, if batteries are present.  The batteries would be located at the bottom of the enclosure.
  2. Disconnect the RED wire from the battery.  Gently slide and wiggle the connector from the battery terminal.

Power Cycle the Unit

  1. Find the power wire, which will be a standard, black, 3-prong AC plug:

  1. Unplug the cord from the power socket for 20 seconds.
  2. Plug back in, and make sure it is firmly placed.

Connect the Battery

Inside the enclosure, reconnect the red wire to the battery terminal by gently sliding onto the terminal.

Check the Internet Connection

  1. Locate the main control board, which should be located at the top of the enclosure.
  2. Locate the network port, labeled LAN
  3. Make sure the network cable (Ethernet) is securely plugged into the port.
  4. Make sure the other end of the network cable is securely plugged into an ACTIVE network port, whether it is a network switch or directly into a router, and the port has connectivity to the world wide web (WWW).
