Overview
Due to many requests, we've improved Rhōmb's waiver process. Now, customers will be required to provide their own electronic signature, their phone number, and include the names and birthdates of all participants they’re bringing into your facility, before completing checkout.
Customers only need to sign your waiver once. Their signed waiver will stay linked to their account unless they choose to update it themselves within their account (ex. add or remove participants) or you make changes to the waiver as an administrator. In the event that you modify your waiver as an administrator, all of your existing customers will be required to sign their waiver again.
To ensure the accuracy of waiver information, guest checkout is no longer available. All customers must create an account before completing checkout, allowing them to manage participant details and keep waiver records up to date.
Old Process:
Users checked a box before completing checkout, confirming acceptance of a 'waiver'
Users had the ability to check out as a guest.
New Process:
Users must add participants they are bringing.
They must scroll through the waiver.
They must provide an electronic signature to acknowledge the waiver terms.
Users are required to create an account to complete the waiver process and purchase a product.
A waiver must be in the system before they are allowed to check out.
Waiver details, including participants, can be updated in their account.
Users will need to check off a box acknowledging your Terms of Service before completing their check out.
New Waiver Structure
The waiver is now required for customers to complete before checkout and now includes the following:
1. User Details: First name, last name, phone number
2. Participant information: first name, last name, date of birth
3. Electronic Signature
Implementation Guide
1. Updating Your Waiver
To ensure compliance and maintain accurate records, follow these steps:
Title: Clearly label the waiver with a relevant title, such as "2025 Assumption of Risk, Waiver & Release of Liability Agreement."
Signatory Label: Choose a designation for the person signing, e.g., Parent/Guardian, Adult, or Signatory.
Participant Label: Define how participants should be referred to, e.g., Participant, Minor, or Child.
Content Accuracy: Ensure the waiver is fully up to date and reflects current legal and business requirements. Any modifications will require all existing users to complete the new waiver before continued participation.
2. Updating Checkout Terms of Service (TOS)
The Terms of Service must explicitly outline the Waiver Requirement at checkout.
Refined Statement for Checkout TOS:
"All participants are required to have a completed and current waiver on file before accessing our facilities or engaging in any activities. Failure to provide a valid waiver may result in denied entry or restricted participation."
3. Activating Your Waiver Settings
Once you’re confident that your updated waiver and TOS content meet your requirements, it's time to activate the waiver process:
