How to Set Up A Product with Tiered Pricing (First Item Full Price, Additional Items Discounted)

Tiered pricing allows you to charge one price for the first item and automatically apply a discounted price to additional quantities of the same product.

In Rhōmb, this is done using Price Breaks.

A Price Break is a pricing rule that changes the per-unit price when a customer purchases a specific quantity of a product. It lets you reward higher quantities with a lower rate.

Example
  • 1 day pass: $12 each
  • 2 day passes: $10 each

  • 3 or more day passes: $8 each

When the customer selects a quantity of 2 or more, the discounted per-unit price is automatically applied at checkout.

How to Add a Price Break to a Product

  1. On your admin end, navigate to the product settings of the product you want to add price breaks to.

  2. Click on the Pricing tab.

  3. Click the green + button to add a new price break.

  4. Enter your desired Price Break Quantity (the minimum quantity required for the discounted price).

    1. Note: The product’s maximum purchase quantity must be set to the same number or higher than the desired Price Break quantity. If it is set lower, the price break option will not appear, and you will not be able to configure the discount.

  5. Enter the new Price per Unit Of Measure that should apply at that quantity.

  6. Click Save.

Important Notes

  • The Price Break Quantity determines when the new price activates.
  • The discounted price applies per unit once the quantity threshold is met.
  • You can create multiple price breaks if you want different pricing tiers (for example: 2+, 5+, 10+).

Different Ways to Display Tiered Pricing

You can control how your pricing tiers appear to customers by adjusting the Product Page Price Display Format in the product’s Pricing tab.

This setting determines how the price is shown on the product page when customers view and select quantities.
