Add Cards to the Card Bank

Add Cards to the Card Bank

Overview

The card bank is where known credential IDs (cards or fobs) are managed.  It is a list of available IDs that match the format and encoding of actual cards that are issued to users.  Whenever cards are purchased they must be added to the card bank before being assigned.  A card must exist in the card bank before it can be assigned.  The following are instructions on how to add cards to the card bank for the most common card types, 26-bit with a facility code.

Adding Cards

1. Log in to Brivo Access (https://access.brivo.com).  This function cannot be performed in the app, so you must login to the browser version.
2. In the left menu, go to Credentials >> Cards
3. Click the + Add Cards button in the upper-right
4. A pop-up window appears:
      a. Select the proper Card Format from the pull-down menu.  The most common format is "Standard 26-bit".  If you don't know the format of your cards, contact Latitude Support for additional help.
      b. Enter the first card number in the range of IDs about to be added.  The card number is a number between 1-65500 (standard 26-bit).
      c. Enter the last card number in the range of IDs.  This number should be greater than the first card.  If you are only adding one card, the first and last card numbers will match.
      d. Enter the facility code, which is an additional ID encoded on the card.  The facility code is a number between 0-255 (standard 26-bit).
IMPORTANT: DO NOT CHECK Set and Optional Card Offset unless you are absolutely sure about this function.  It is a rare setting and should only be used when advised.
      e. Click the Add Cards button to add the range to your card bank.

5. Brivo will report the number card numbers added.
6. The card numbers are available for assignment
