Creating Schedules

Creating Schedules

Overview

Schedules have two primary purposes in Brivo:
  1. Define when a user has access to a door.  For example, the cleaning company may only have access to the main entrance between 7 pm and 10 pm on Wednesday.  A schedule is required to define that timeframe.
  2. Define when a door should automatically unlock and lock.  For example, the loading dock door is to remain unlocked between 6 am and 6 pm Mon-Fri.

Creating an Access Schedule

1.  Login to Brivo via a web browser (the app doesn't support this function)
2.  Using the left menu, go to Configuration >> Schedules

3. Let's start with creating an access schedule, which defines when users have access.  Click on the New Schedule button
4. Give the Schedule a logical name that briefly describes the purpose.  This makes it easier when associated with a User Group.
5. Associate the schedule to a specific site or select Universal to apply to all sites.
6. Using the grid for defining scheduled days and times:
      a.  Using your cursor click on the start time and drag your cursor to the end time, which creates a blue block.  This blue block represents the access window.
      b.  If you need to fine-tune the start or end time, click on the blue block and manually adjust the time in the Start and End fields.
      c.  Use the Copy functions to easily add the block to other days of the week.
7. Leave the Enabling Group and Grace Period set to None and 0 respectively.  This feature is for advanced users.
8. Leave the Holidays field blank as we don't recommend using the holiday function
9. Click here to learn about Schedule Exceptions, which are very handy when a temporary change to the schedule is required.
10. Make Sure you ALWAYS SAVE YOUR CHANGES
**IMPORTANT**  Associate the schedule to the Group(s) and Device to which it applies.  Click here for instructions.
